Today’s feature is the dark and ominous sounding, Black Domina; straight from its suspected African landrace roots all the way to Ocean Beach’s Relief Incorporated.  (For those curious, landrace strains are wild plants adapted to the natural environment in which they live or originated.) A Sensi Seeds creation, Black Domina expresses desirable features from the elite Indica genotypes Northern Lights, Ortega, Hash Plant and Afghani SA.  The most sought after phenotype is set apart with a large spherical center cola and lovely green-black leaves. This strain is typically tall and lanky and experienced growers will keep the darkest of the brood for mother plants.

Our indoor grown sample is fully organic, and was raised in soil with a combination of Botanicare nutrients and compost. When speaking with the grower, it was brought to my attention that there was a contamination issue with a breeding side project and sadly, this poor girl managed to get knocked up. Seeds found were fully matured and definitely keepers, but unfortunately I haven’t been able to reach the grower to ask exactly which strain pollinated this lady of the night. This certainly affected the final product resulting in medication that by my professional opinion is better for rolling or putting in edibles.

The taste is nil but smooth and upon smoking, the patient can experience a VERY heavy and sedative feeling within the first 5 minutes. This is indicative of a higher CBD to THC count, which we are most likely dealing with in this case.  My eyes were slits and it was a chore to just hold my head level for a short period. Thoughts and physical movement were both slowed considerably. This medication will certainly sit you down for a rest, while great for sleep, using Domina as a morning strain is ill advised.

Overall this strain was simply OK, but I certainly would like to sample again with a better specimen. Resin production is decent but would have been MUCH better in a sterile grow room. I recommend this medication for patients on a budget or looking for some good blunt herb.  It should treat pain, Insomnia, and eating disorders exceptionally.
