For today, this sample of
the mysterious, Sativa legend, ChemDog comes to us from the Fullerton
Family Growers via Chron2theDoor delivery. Fully organic and soil
grown, It smells earthy yet light and invigorating, like menthol or
eucalyptus, (not earthy like dirt or grass.) I swear there is almost a
hint of apple or some other fruit in the background. You can be the
judge. Nicely cured and slightly sticky on the squeeze test, it is yet
another very nicely manicured specimen without question. Taste on
exhale was very smooth and lightly fruity.
The effects made me
chatty; conversation and ideas still flowed quite freely and I wasn’t
bogged down in a haze of confusion, typical to opposing Indica dominant
strains. This strain is outstanding for daytime use, as it will give
most the experience of great energy and a will to get things done.
Certainly not the couchlocking, heavily sedative, pain killing
properties some may find appealing, but helped ease moderate pain and
severe nausea associated with my own symptoms.
The mommy of
everyone’s favorite strain it seems these days, OG Kush (the original
cut) came from ChemDog in the Lake Tahoe area in 1996. Enough ancient
history for today though class…
Overall, I have to say that
ChemDog ranks right up there with some of my favorite Sativas of the
past, such as Jack Herrer, and should get along nicely with his new
friends down in my secret underground archives.
